A BURGER FOR TWO? DON'T MIND IF WE DO!

Gourmet burgers abound 'round these parts and it takes major willpower/strength to eat anything else (we know we need vegetables, too - hi mama!). We try so very hard to not be creatures of habit, but within two weeks of Sara's arrival we had already visited two such institutions: Shake Shack and Good Stuff Eatery. We also accidentally ordered similar items and posed the exact same way at both restaurants. So you can tell we're really nailing this not being creatures of habit thing, eh?

Something we truly missed during our separation was splitting food, so it felt extra fun to share a mushroom burger, fries, chocolate shake at both places. All items were awesome everywhere, but we must give a special nod to the seasoned mayo at Good Stuff Eatery - like, what do they put in those things? As you can see, we tried to give the mayo the honor it deserves by arranging the assortment paint-palate style in front of our fries.

ARTY FARTY: iPHONE EDITION

We (Sarasmith, especially) are visualists and really enjoy seeing things that flambé the crepê suzette of our creativity (s'il vous-plaît). We're constantly scanning the streets for neat stuff, but when we really want to stoke the flames, we visit an art museum. Below are a few iPhone shots from The Phillips Collection and the National Gallery of Art.

Hellooooo.

Smith + Sisters = Smithsters

After six years of living apart, we're finally reunited. The Smithsters.

Before Sara's arrival we were on the receiving end (and sometimes the giving end - shh) of terrible jokes to the effect of us together being too much twin for one city to handle. We were excited to ya know, take DC by storm, turn the District upside down, really shake things up. And then there was an earthquake in our home state of Colorado followed by an earthquake AND a hurricane in our current home base of DC.  All within a week of each other. Fate tempting has subsequently ceased.

So now we're living the dream: one part acting like tourists, two parts snuggling.  Life just couldn't be sweeter.*

*Until we convince the rest of the Smiths to move.here.already - sheesh! We won't beg (yes we will).
