CRAFTY SUNDAY

Just a few snapshots from our craft excursion to Michael's last Sunday Funday.

NEW YORK WITH MAZZONIO

My oh my, Sarasmith is one lucky lady. For a grown-up spring break escape, Mazzoni (remember him?) flew all the way from the Land Down Under for a holiday in New York City. The trip mostly consisted of drinking (coffee + fine cocktails), eating lots o' food, and strandering the streets of NYC. Throw in a "Linsane" Knicks game and a sunny stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge for a complete and fulfilling touristy week! Gosh, there always seems to be too much to do and too little time in the Big Apple. It's overwhelming in the best sense of the word.

And because we still feel a little gushy over here in Smithsterville, we have to note that it was a very dreamy and special week. And, as president of the Alexander Raymond Mazzoni American Fan Club, Sarasmith kindly invites him to return whenever/wherever/forever.

WEEKENDS APART

Sarasmith's in NY with her fabulous, Australian man and Betsy was left to her own devices in DC. As you can see, we had two totally different, but blissfully awesome Sundays.

THE OSCARS

We're still beaming after last weekend's fabulous Oscar party that we helped host with our friend, Rob. His party is an annual tradition kept since college, but as we've all grown up a little, so has his party. This year he sent paper invitations (who does that?) and he let us play around a bit with decor and menu. Highlights of the evening included tracking our predictions against the actual winners through a really cute ballot, enjoying a delicious array of cheeses, toasting with our signature drink, surprising guests with milk and cookies halfway through the telecast and cheering as The Artist won for best picture (we adored it!).

OSCAR PARTY PREP

This Saturday we went on a thriftventure with our dear friend, Rob. We were in search of a few last minute items for his Oscar Party on Sunday evening. Pictures and post forthcoming! After a marvelous breakfast at Silver Diner, we headed to our favorite discount spot, Unique Thrift. It was a treasure trove, natch, and we left with several unanticipated items including: a cut crystal punch bowl with nine matching glasses, a fabulous J. Crew coat for Sarasmith, a gold tray, a silver bowl, and two knitwear items. We couldn't help it. It all just jumped into the cart...promise!
